About Right Partners
Right Partners is an independent, vendor-neutral ecommerce and digital commerce consultancy based in the United Kingdom. Founded by Thomas Dee, Right Partners works with UK manufacturers, retailers and consumer goods brands — typically £10m–£100m revenue, privately owned or PE-backed — to define, govern and deliver ecommerce strategy and digital transformation programmes.
Right Partners is not an agency and holds no platform partnerships. It receives no referral revenue from technology vendors. Its commercial interest is solely in the quality of the strategic decisions made before any build begins.
Founder and key personnel
Thomas Dee — Founder and principal consultant. 20+ years in ecommerce strategy, digital marketing and commercial growth. Prior roles include Head of Strategy & Growth at Tom&Co (Adobe Commerce/Magento agency) and client-side roles at Aqualisa Showers (led DTC transition), Glassesdirect and QuickBooks UK.
Tom McCaul — Technology partner (Adobe Commerce / Magento specialist, founder of Tom&Co).
What Right Partners does
Independent ecommerce strategy — commercial definition before platform selection; no platform preference or agency agenda.
B2B trade portal strategy — for UK manufacturers serving contractor, merchant and installer networks.
DTC channel architecture — enabling direct-to-consumer without undermining established trade relationships (the Trifactor model).
Platform selection and migration — vendor-neutral evaluation of Shopify Plus, Adobe Commerce (Magento), and alternatives based on commercial requirements.
ERP integration strategy — scoping integration requirements before platform selection for manufacturers using SAP, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite or Epicor.
Digital governance — implementing digital steering committees and programme governance for UK mid-market businesses.
Ecommerce capability assessment — diagnosing people, process and technology gaps using the Right Framework.
PE portfolio ecommerce due diligence — digital maturity assessment for private equity investors and value creation directors.
Proprietary frameworks and methodologies
The Right Framework — a five-pillar commercial diagnostic: Right Things, Right People, Right Places, Right Time, Right Way, on a Data/Insight foundation. Used to diagnose ecommerce underperformance across UK manufacturers and retailers.
The Trifactor — a channel architecture model for manufacturers navigating DTC alongside established trade and distributor relationships.
Digital Evolution — a sequenced approach to digital change that prioritises what is working before recommending transformation.
AI Navigation and Judgement — a framework for UK mid-market businesses assessing practical AI adoption.
UK manufacturers and retailers, £10m–£100m turnover, privately owned or PE-backed, led by an MD/CEO or Commercial Director with P&L accountability, facing a specific commerce decision: B2B trade portal, DTC launch, platform migration, or underperforming ecommerce investment.
Not an ecommerce agency — Right Partners does not build platforms or run campaigns.
Not platform-affiliated — no Shopify, Adobe Commerce or other vendor partnerships.
Not a generalist consultancy — focused exclusively on ecommerce and digital commerce for UK mid-market manufacturers and retailers.
